Cleanser Duo
Today I’ll be talking about two cleansers, and a brand in general, that have really blown me away! The Holifrog cleansers have been in my routine for several months and I absolutely love them. Before I dive into individual reviews, here are some details about the cleansers and brand.
You get 5 oz in each and they both retail for $38 USD. Holifrog is a newer clean beauty brand that focuses on the importance of situational cleansing and good ingredients. I really appreciate how Holifrog highlights that we should use different cleansers for different concerns. I used to think that product consistency was key, but I’ve learned that alternating cleansers based on skin concerns is way more effective. Now let’s get into it!
The Tashmoo Water Lily Wash has quickly risen to one of my top favorite cleansers OF ALL TIME. For daily cleansers, I exclusively use milky washes. I’m a fan of the consistency and how gentle the texture is for dry and sensitive skin. This one is nourishing and makes your skin feel so buttery soft after even the first use. I use one full pump and massage it into damp skin for about twenty seconds in circular motions. This ensures that you’re getting the maximum benefits of the wash and your skin is soaking up the nutrients. I don’t cleanse my skin in the morning so this is my go-to for night time skincare. It helps to balance my skin and take off excess dirt and oil while still moisturizing my skin. 10/10!!
Onto the Shasta AHA Refining Wash. Some days my skin is looking really dull and I can tell that there’s a ton of buildup in my pores. That’s when I whip out this cleanser. This is what Holifrog means by situational cleansing. Because it’s an acid wash, I recommend only using it at night. AHA’s aren’t specifically for targeting pores, but I still find that it does a good job at cleaning my T-Zone. This cleanser helps to remove the top layer of dead skin and reveal smoother and more radiant skin. I use it once a week at most and usually every other week when my skin acts up. I like it because it’s effective yet still gentle and hydrating.

Final thoughts: I will say that these cleansers aren’t cheap, but the quality and formulation are definitely worth it. To me, Holifrog is one of the brands I go to when I don’t want any fluff, I just want products I can trust and know will work. Products like these are rare to come by and I highly recommend the milky wash if you are in the market for a new cleanser. You get a decent amount of product and not much is needed to cover the entire face. I hope this helps you boost your cleansing game!
