A Hydrating Milky Wash

This post was inspired by my mom and all the sensitive skin gals out there! Especially for daily eyeliner and shadow wearers, micellar water and eye makeup removers can be quite harsh on your skin. I was looking for an eye makeup remover that offers a good balance between oily and clarifying. I came across this Pixi Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover! I believe this one can be used all over the face, but I prefer to use it solely on my eyes and an oil balm + micellar water on the rest of my face.

This remover is 5.07 oz and retails for $25 USD.

A little background on how I discovered this treasure! My mom has super sensitive eyes and almost all eye makeup removers end up burning or being too oily. She used this one for a few weeks and suddenly couldn’t stop raving about how good it was! I was so shocked because she’s never stuck to the same eye makeup remover - it’s been about 4 months and she is still loving it!

Why I love it:

  • Gentle on the eyes because of the milky texture

  • Coconut soothes and moisturizes skin

  • Removes waterproof eyeliner and mascara without tugging

  • Perfect balance (not too oily, not too drying)

  • Has a nifty little pump to minimize the risk of contamination

I usually take a cotton pad and pump two to three times, then hold the pad over my eye. This allows for the remover to do its job and break down all of the makeup. After a few seconds, I gently swipe the pad and most of my eye makeup is off! It’s easy to go back in to clean the tougher spots because of this initial step.

Final thoughts: I’m a huge fan of this makeup remover and although it’s $25 (compared to a $6 micellar water), I think it’s totally worth it! We only get one pair of eyes and it’s so important that we take care of them :) This remover doesn’t clog pores and I don’t have to tug on my eyes to get the makeup off. Highly recommend this one and I hope it can be your solution for sensitive eyes too!
